Supplying equipment and expertise

Did you know that BRE played a part in the construction of the latest Queensferry Crossing that carries the M90 motorway across the Firth of Forth between Fife and Edinburgh? One secure shipping container on each of the three towers was fitted with heating, lighting, weather protection and three Atlas Copco Model GA30 VSD Variable Speed Drive Air Compressors. All units were controlled by their integral IQ system which automatically selected and rotated the optimum units to provide energy savings and balanced operating hours. Nine units in total were involved in the bridge construction and each unit’s running condition was monitored remotely using the Atlas Copco Smartlink system.

About the Queensferry Crossing: The £1.35billion project is the UK’s tallest bridge, with over 24 million vehicles expected to travel across it every year.
